Three weeks ago I told you to count the flock. Two weeks ago I told you why you still will not look. Last week I told you what you are looking at.
This week is what you do with the number.
A Rock is not a score you discuss. It is not a theme you hand a man so he can disappear into a cubicle and “own it.” A Rock is an action that moves the direction of the business and propels it forward.
Jesus already told you what a house on sand does in the storm. Paul already told you the body has five types of people and every joint has to supply. In the shop those five types are Visionary, Integrator, Sales, Managers and Customer Care, and Technician. If you skip the foundation or the body, you do not have a Rock. You have a wish. You are hoping the tooth fairy leaves a dollar instead of a quarter.

Last week was why you will not look. This week is what you are looking at.
God gave us four Compasses and three Rheostats so we can see what He already sees. They apply to every industry, every operation, every company, every job. Compasses are direction. Rheostats are this week’s work. Together they are a dashboard — not another religion on the wall.
Moral is first and highest. If this one is off, the other six will always be off.
Operating: does the work have order?
Financial: do we know the cash?
Leadership: does the middle actually lead?
People. Training. Equipment.
Nothing runs without a plan. Every action is a project: a defined set of steps designed to produce a desired outcome. Write the process so they can run. Train it so they can run it. The Operating Compass tells you whether both actually happened.
A number with no next step is just shame. We do not do shame. Diagnostic first. Book after you know where you stand.

Owners do not refuse to measure because they are stupid. They refuse because fear keeps the truth unofficial, and pride says the last hit should have been enough.
Proverbs 27:23 is not a headcount. It is know the condition of the flock. A busy week and a rising top line are the outside of the cup. Condition is whether this week produced anything.
You can do everything you were trained to do and still bounce off. Official truth then feels like one more problem on a field that is already full. So the technician stays needed, the loyal people keep guessing, and hardship gets baptized as holiness.
That is not faith. God is not the author of confusion. Looking is obedience, not unbelief, and it is not a prosperity promise.
Most will never get the lucky break they are copying. Measure this flock this week. Diagnostic first. Book after you know where you stand.

You cannot steward a flock you will not count. Proverbs 27:23.
Refusing to measure is a tactic. It keeps you busy with fires and “why aren’t they performing” while profit falls, vision dies, and logistics never get a number. Amateurs stay in tactics. Professionals run logistics. Profit is the body count after the battle.
If you cannot measure it, it is still too big. Make it smaller until done has a number.
Sarah’s firm had rising revenue and falling profit because her Rocks were a discussion, not a score. The inside of the cup was dirty. Headspace came back when the work became countable.
Do not start with software or a speech. Step on the scale.

Most Christian business owners are stuck in heroics culture — everything runs through them. They are asset rich but cash poor, exhausted, and unable to multiply.
This is the result of pride of life (1 John 2:16). The lust of the flesh and eyes get us into trouble. Pride keeps us there.
Michael Gerber warned us in The E-Myth: Most owners create a job for themselves instead of building a company.
The solution is simple but rare: Write down the way you want things to be. Then write down how you want it done. Establish clear left and right limits (processes and controls).
Truth: About 3/4 of people actually need processes and controls to thrive. The pure prophets and evangelists are vital for vision, but they are not the ones you want running daily operations without guardrails.
God never called you to be the hero. He called you to equip the saints (Ephesians 4:11-12).
